THREE CHURCH KITCHENS COATED IN COLOUR

Semi-commercial kitchens don’t need to look cold and institutional. In fact, they can be as warm, colourful and welcoming as you want…

Most churches want a hard-wearing kitchen that’s durable and hygienic, but one that also wouldn’t look out of place at home. And these three certainly had the right idea when it came to injecting vibrancy and energy into their spaces!

St Nicholas Church, Thames Ditton
Desperate to update their old kitchen, the church committee at St Nicholas Church embarked on a complete renovation. They wanted a new kitchen hard-wearing enough for parties and corporate events, but still accommodating to their congregation and volunteers. And, after choosing a steel shell kitchen with polyester coated steel doors, the committee were keen to add a strong and creative colour theme. The result? An aesthetically pleasing, mint-coloured space, durable enough to take on weddings, the occasional bake sale and an event attended by over 150 people.

Dursley Tabernacle URC
With an old kitchen that didn’t meet current health and safety standards, Dursley Tabernacle couldn’t deliver what they wanted to their community. So, in need of a professional space for outside caterers with a warm feel for the congregation, the minister and her team turned to Steelplan for their ‘halfway house between domestic and commercial’ offering. And, as you can see, after a complete refurbishment and wider renovation project to the Grade II-listed church, Dursley Tabernacle settled on a vibrant red kitchen that brightens even the cloudiest day!

St Mary’s Church, Byfleet
With a kitchen the size of three double garages, St Mary’s were lucky enough to have a lot of space and ideas to play with. But one thing the committee could all agree on was the need for a visually appealing, robust, sturdy kitchen of a professional standard, where both volunteers and caterers would be happy to work. And after much debating, with the beautiful natural light from the skylight, they decided to keep the colour simple with blue flooring, monochrome worktops, white walls and soft blue cupboards.

At Steelplan, our doors are available in fabulously bright colours, but we also understand that bright and bold isn’t for everyone. So, our vinyl wrapped timber doors have some lovely woodgrain finishes, available in a variety of colours. Call us on 0844 809 9186 for a free, no obligation consultation service.
