Within this small church, its first priority is to make it a place for families to practice their beliefs and be one with their community. Whether through prayer or cups of tea with their fellow parishioners, the keepers of West Street Evangelical Church needed a reliable small church kitchens space to keep their congregation and church volunteers happy.
With various meetings and coffee mornings throughout the week, they wanted a place that could withstand the heavy usage from volunteers, while providing the warm, home-like feel that the church was known for.
The design
Rather than the intimidating nature of a commercial kitchen, a semi-commercial kitchen was the answer. With its powder-coated steel carcasses and colourful powder-coated doors and drawers, it is strong enough to withstand the busy environment of volunteers and offers far better hygiene, because it’s far easier to clean compared to stainless steel kitchens and domestic MDF alternatives, and doesn’t absorb liquid.
They opted for white doors, which gives the kitchen a sense of peace – a lovely backdrop for their congregation to make the connections they needed to feel welcome when buying a cup of tea, or working with new volunteers in the kitchen.
